The Celebrity Ankle Boot

by admin

You know an item of clothing is hot when you see all your favourite celebs wearing it. And recently we’ve seen a whole slew of celebrities in ankle boots. They’re wearing them with skinny jeans, with mini skirts, with baggy pants, with hippy dresses.

That’s the great thing about the ankle boot. You really can wear it with pretty much any outfit. We’ve seen Lindsay Lohan wearing a hot red pair with black leather pants, we’ve seen J-Lo in her Yves St Laurent ankle boots with five and a half inch heels setting off an otherwise simple outfit, we’ve seen it all and it’s all good!

So what kind of outfit should you wear with your your ankle boots if you want to look like your favourite red carpet star? Well, that’s totally up to you, but the key thing is not to be too tame or reserved. Be adventurous! Put an outfit together that you wouldn’t normally wear, go on, be daring!

For a cool summer look, wear the boots with a light, floaty short dress (but not too short, you want to look stylish, not tarty). For the dress, you want something a little vintage to give you that “boho chic” look that all the celebs seem to pull off so effortlessly. Just think how well it works for Sienna Miller and you’ll be on the right track.

Or for something more sleek, a la Gwyneth Paltrow, try a little black number. This only works if you have the figure for it, but if you can pull it off, more power to you!

We recently spied Rihanna in a pair of open-toed lace-up ankle boots accompanying a tight-fitting floral print dress that looked fab, so that’s a look you could go for.

If skinny jeans and ankle boots is more your thing, take a leaf out of Hillary Duff’s book, she looks great with a loose top and bright scarf accompanying her skinny blue jeans and patent leather black ankle boots. Or if you’re after a more grungy, punky look, how about following Peaches Geldof’s example and wearing your boots with ripped jeans ripped with a baggy t-shirt?

You can get some great ideas for how to wear ankle boots by just watching what the trend-setting stars do, then making that look your own.

So what are you waiting for? Go dress up!
